‘Project Real’: How good are you at recognising fake news?

What’s on offer?

This interactive online workshop invites parents and their children to come together to learn more about fake news. This will include: fake photos, fake videos and fake people. There will be interactive activities to try out and see how good you are at spotting real and fake news and how you can improve. The event will take place on Zoom and will last approximately 1 hour.

What’s it about?

This interactive online workshop invites parents and their children to come together to learn more about fake news. This will include exploring: fake photos, fake videos and fake people. There will be interactive activities to try out and see how good you are at spotting real and fake news and how you can improve. Dr Skipper will present some activities which have been co-created by young people, academics, teachers and social media influencers, including spotting fake photos and videos. At the end of the session all participants will be more confident in spotting fake news.

Who’s leading the event?

The event is being led by Dr Skipper and based on her work on ‘Project Real’. This project was co-created between young people, academics, teachers and social media influencers. eQuality Time, a UK based charity will also be involved in delivery of the project.
