Carbon reduction, older tenements and the retrofit challenge

Environment Themed

What’s on offer?

You are invited to join a public meeting to discuss and learn more about the ongoing refurbishment of an eight-property tenement block on Niddrie Road, Glasgow. You can expect to:

  • hear directly from the key project partners, including Southside Housing Association, Glasgow City Council, John Gilbert Architects, CCG (Scotland) Ltd., and the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE)
  • ask questions and share ideas on the scalability and replicability of the lessons learned from this demonstration project for Glasgow's wider pre-1919 tenement stock
  • be among the first to view a new short film about the project

What’s it about?

Are you concerned about climate change? Do you want to learn about how we can reduce carbon emission by retrofitting Glasgow's pre-1919 tenement blocks?

Who’s leading the event?

Professor Ken Gibb Dr Gareth James, University of Glasgow
