Climate Change – building bridges between global political negotiations and community climate action

Environment Themed

What’s on offer?

In this event you will have the opportunity to learn about and reflect on global and local efforts to tackle climate change.
We want to hear your views and concerns about how you are currently considered in global political negotiations. We will use a range of interactive tools  to capture views and questions during the event and you will have the opportunity to ask questions of the researchers and practitioners working on climate change communication.

What’s it about?

This event focuses on climate change action and explores and debates the challenges of bridging global, political negotiations (such as the COP26 conference that is taking place in Glasgow in November 2021) with local, community climate action. The discussions in this session will be summarised and will directly feed into our research at the Centre of Climate Change and Social Transformations. Don't miss this opportunity to have your say!

Who’s leading the event?

This event is lead by researchers from the Centre of Climate Change and Social Transformations who are supported by climate communicators from Climate Outreach. We will also link up with climate action groups from Cardiff (e.g. Extinction Rebellion Cardiff) and Young people (Alpha Youth Panel).

Current speakers:
Prof. Lorraine Whitmarsh, Director of the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations
Amiera Sawas, Director of Research, Climate Outreach,

Open to

We encourage anyone to join, who is interested in climate action on a local and/or global level.
