Join us for an interactive story in which your choices change the course of the story. Participate through an ‘arcade game’ lasting between 5-10 minutes in which the decisions you make in the game have an impact on your character’s data use and the consequences this has on CO2 emissions and the wider ‘state of the world’.
After the game you can chat to us and others about your experience and the insights you've gained from playing. Help us to as we explore the concept of the Internet of Things and The Edge and their effects on the natural environment with a focus on the increasing data practices generated by the devices associated with these technologies.
This event aims to make the intangible consequences of data choices tangible. These may be the choices we all make as active beneficiaries of using the Internet and therefore producers of data, or it may be the choices made by those who design the infrastructure and systems we use, collecting unnecessary data in the background. It even includes the choices made by malicious actors in our digital world.
