Late Night Exchange: COP26

Environment Themed A graphic of a globe with dark blue, green and white swirls

What’s on offer?

The evening will include a mixture of short talks and interactive events on topics such as forests, green finance, infectious diseases and the importance of good leadership. We’ll also hear about what social science can teach us about coping with the climate crisis.

This is to tie in with the official opening of the University of Birmingham’s new city centre public engagement and exhibit base: the Exchange, as well as our climate theme of ‘The air that we breathe.’

What’s it about?

We want to give people in the West Midlands the opportunity to engage with climate change issues for themselves while the COP26 climate change summit is taking place.

Held at The Exchange in the heart of Birmingham, this event will consider climate change and action from multiple angles, connecting you with experts, activists and residents in a stimulating evening of debate. Guests can expect an evening of expert insight, passionate discussion and personal reflection on the global and local threat of climate change.

Who’s leading the event?

Speakers will include University of Birmingham experts: Professor Hisham Farag, Professor Willem van Schaik, Dr Johannes Lohse and Professor Christine Foyer. We will also have contributions from Liz Coleman and Nuru Mohamed at Citizens UK (Birmingham).
