What’s on offer?

A digital exhibition celebrating midlife and the menopause

What’s it about?

Exploring the positive side of menopause

The menopause - a topic once surrounded by silence is now enjoying visibility across the UK. It featured in Davina McCall’s recent documentary ‘Sex, Myths and the Menopause’, and is central to upcoming Government Policy ‘The Women’s Health Strategy’.

To be part of this moment we asked women to share their positive experiences of menopause. This digital exhibition showcases the responses we responses we received, supported by diverse images of women by digital artist and illustrator Daisy Meredith (‘Dizzy Lou’), to celebrate this time of life.

The Portraits of Menopause project, led by Dr Sharron Hinchliff, is part of the sexual rights and ageing work at the University of Sheffield, which tackles stereotypes, raises awareness, and deepens understanding.

This exhibit will be available to view from Monday 1 November 2021.

Who’s leading the event?
