Zine workshop: using speculative fiction to explore climate crisis

Environment Themed

What’s on offer?

Join a zine workshop, where we work with extracts of speculative fiction by Octavia E Butler and Ursula K Le Guin, to create zines that explore how we feel about the present climate crisis, the future, and what we can do about it. Materials will be provided to make the zines - a mix of writing, mark making, drawing, whatever we feel like - but feel free to bring anything with you, including scraps of paper etc.

Who’s leading the event?

This event is led by social researcher Miranda Iossifidis, who works with speculative fiction reading groups. She has led workshops with young people in collaboration with Seven Stories (2019), as well as online and offline zine workshops (2018, 2021).

Open to

18-21 year olds

Of particular interest to

People interested in speculative and science fiction, and climate change
